Allison Smith Ph.D. Las Vegas, Nevada Professor University of Nevada, Las Vegas | Is it easy to locate programs for your kids and family to participate in? I did not know anybody or any activities for children in Las Vegas when I moved here. Luckily my profession requires me to be research-savvy on the internet. I was able to find amazing things for us to do, but it took a lot of time and effort. It is possible to find programs and activities for children but it is not easy! Would it be beneficial, and how, if there was a website that put opportunities for your family in one place online? Yes. A centralized website listing programs would reduce research time to find programs and activities for children. I conduct research for my job, but most parents do not have the skills, time, or resources to find all of the amazing things there are for kids here in Las Vegas. Families living in Las Vegas, as well as visitors, often ask me what they can do with their children here. I find myself trying to remember all the programs, but referring them to a website would be much easier! I would also imagine this would benefit the businesses, as well, because they could list their programs and activities in one place to increase participation. |
